The Homenetmen 35th Navasartian Games conclude with a spectacular festival, exciting championship games and an inspirational closing ceremony and parade.
Without a doubt, the Navasartian Games and its accompanying 4-day festival can be considered one of the largest events widely recognized throughout our communities. Organized by the Homenetmen Western Region and just having completed its 35th year over the July 1-4, 2010 weekend, this event proudly draws thousands of Armenians throughout Northern, Central, and Southern California, as well as visitors from afar, in support of the Homenetmen organization and all it represents. With strong focus on a myriad of values, including volunteerism, sportsmanship, discipline, community spirit, and much more, Homenetmen has been nurturing our Armenian youth since its inception.

Anticipation builds for the final weekend of the 35th Annual Navasartian Games

With great enthusiasm, encouraging supporters witnessed the continuation of a series of basketball competitions by Homenetmen athletic teams the weekend of June 12-13, 2010.

This upcoming weekend, June 19-20, 2010, California State University, Northridge (18111 Nordhoff Street, Northridge, CA) will host a wide variety of Navasartian athletics on their campus, including swimming and track and field events.

Berdj Djamdjian Named 2010 'Exemplary Homenetmen Member'

Every year, the Homenetmen Western United States Regional Executive bestows the title of "Exemplary Homenetmen Member" upon one individual in the organization who demonstrates a primary example for others to follow. This year, Berdj Djamdjian, notable in the community for his active involvement in scouting life, has deservedly been endowed with this esteemed title.

The Homenetmen Navasartian Games
This showcase event organized by Homenetmen Western USA are the Navasartian Games. Launched in East Los Angeles in 1975, now it boasts the participation of 300 teams, 6,000 athletes, 2000 scouts and attracts over 35,000 spectators over a period of eight weeks each year. The games culminate on the weekend of the Fourth of July, with a festival and an elaborate closing ceremony featuring the collective family of Homenetmen athletes, scouts, parents and volunteers from the 17 chapters in the Western US. With the participation of over fifty local businesses and organizations in the food and games booths of the festival, the Navasartian Games are more than just a Homenetmen event. These games have a special place in the heart of the community and feature all that is right with the community. After all, these activities are geared towards keeping the youth away from negative influences. By participating, they become involved in family and community oriented activities.
